Switching from blinds to plantation shutters is becoming so popular that nearly everyone knows somebody who know uses them. A lot of people think that shutters are an old technology and that they could not be better than the blinds they already have, but they are. With plantation shutters, Spring Hill residents place them around the window frame of the inside of their home. This is not the same as those old-style shutters that used to be on the outside of your home to protect your windows from debris or strong weather conditions.
Traditional Shutters
Traditional shutters are the most common type of shutter that people imagine with they hear the words plantation shutters. Spring Hill residents should be aware that the main difference between plantation shutters and traditional shutters is one goes on the outside of your home while the other one goes on the inside of your home. The reason why people started using traditional shutters in the first place was to protect their windows from breaking. Back then, glass was much harder to come by, and they’re for a lot more expensive. It was used as an extra layer of protection so people can try and save their investment.
Plantation Shutters
Plantation shutters are the modern adaptation of traditional shutters. Instead of going on the outside of your home, these shutters are placed on the inside of your home to offer better protection than typical blinds. With plantation shutters, Spring Hill residents can stop a broken window from entering your home, but it will not stop any projectile from hitting your window. Glass has gotten significantly cheaper than what it used to be back when shutters were first invented, and now it is much less expensive to replace a broken glass window.
