Window shutters have many designs and styles that determine what type of shutters someone is installing in their home, but most of the time the shutter industry separates window shutters between outdoor window shutter and indoor window shutters. Tampa residents might think that both of these types of shutters would look great in their home, but they might not be aware of some differences between them. For example, window shutters inside a home are going to last longer than ones that are placed on the outside of a home, for a few different reasons.
Weather Damage
Having window shutters on the outside of a home is going to have them effected by environmental conditions that are not a problem inside a home. For example, constant wind and rain from outside can slowly determinate the condition of outside shutter, but this is not something that to worry about with indoor window shutters. Tampa residents should know that window shutters on the outside of a home get broken mostly due to severe weather conditions like strong winds with loose debris on too much saturation from rain water. Only wooden shutters outside will be affected by water damage.
Heat and Humidity
One of the main reasons why indoor window shutters last much longer than ones that are put on the outside of a home is because a homeowner is able to control the heat and humidity of the air inside their home. With indoor window shutters, Tampa residents still have to worry about damage from fluctuating temperatures and moisture content, but it is often never as drastic as some conditions outside. In the State of Florida, temperatures can drop to freezing during the night time, but on some days it may get back up to eighty degrees during the day. Most homeowners keep the temperature in their home around seventy-five to seventy-eight degrees at all times.
